Background
Over the last 25 years, Zach has served as a senior trial attorney with one of the nation’s largest insurance companies, and as a partner in private practice, and specialized in high-exposure litigation involving breach of contract, construction defects, homeowner’s association disputes, landlord-tenant disagreements, trucking, landslides, medical malpractice, personal injury, and property line disputes. He has defended a wide range of professionals including doctors, real estate brokers, lawyers, and other insured parties.
Zach has tried more than 40 jury trials as lead counsel. As a litigator and mediator, he has participated in over 1,000 mediations.
Zach earned his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1997 and his undergraduate degree from University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
Honors & Awards
Zach has had the honor of being recognized as the 2018 Defense Attorney of the Year by the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, a group representing the needs of the plaintiff’s bar for more than 50 years.
Zach’s courtroom accomplishments also earned him membership in the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges for which invitation requires significant trial and litigation achievements. (At the time of his induction, he was the chapter’s youngest member.) Invited members must have demonstrated practice of the virtues of civility, integrity, and professionalism in accordance with ABOTA’s Principles of Civility, Integrity, and Professionalism. Zach has been an active member of the Bay Area and Central Coast chapters of ABOTA since 2010.
Zach has also earned the highest rating of AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, a recognition of his legal ability and ethics by attorneys familiar with his work.
